2010 Design Challenge Winner
CLAYMODELERS.COM congratulates Eliel R. Rojas of Zion Illinois for his winning entry in the 2010 Design challenge.
Eliel writes "When I was a child my parents took me to an exposition of Italian design in Mexico City, were I grew up, that sparked my interest for design. Later in my junior high school years I saw a book with pictures of car clay modelers since then I have wanted to learn the skills but had no access to that opportunity."
"As I was looking for car modeling videos I came across the Design Studio Pro system. I watched the video and knew without hesitation that this was my chance to learn about clay car modeling. The DSP kit is incredibly helpful for novice like me, that didnt even know the difference between regular clay and the car modeling clay, to develop a professional looking model. The fact that the kit includes tools, the graphics, the clay, written instructions, and DVD showing the technique to model saved me time and money."
"Previously, I was looking at Community Colleges in my area to take a class on car modeling, but no one offers it. In order to learn the skill that I learned with DSP I needed to attend an Art College far from home and pay high fees, but DSP made it accessible for me to fulfill a dream. Interestingly, even though I thought my design was final before using the clay, the process of modeling helped me to improve my original design."
It was our pleasure to award Eliel with the winning cash prize. His ability to understand the modeling process and then change the design into his personal idea was executed beautifully. And the fact that he is living his life for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is an incredible testimony of the brilliance in a designed creation we call life. "In the same way that the clay is shaped by the hands of the potter, our lives can be molded into beautiful vessels by the life changing love of God."
